President Joe Biden's chances of winning reelection were virtually destroyed in the first presidential debate of 2024, which intensified the contest for the White House.

Next month's debate on September 10th, which will be the first opportunity for former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris to square off intimately, has a lot riding on it.

The preparations for this high-stakes match have started. The discussion will take place at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia, the network ABC announced on Friday.

Harris attended Howard University, a historically Black college in Washington, DC, nearly forty years ago, and this week she had her first official debate training session.

She was joined there earlier this week by a group of Democratic advisors, which included Hillary Clinton's veteran assistant Philippe Reines.

In the meanwhile, Trump has recruited former Hawaii Representative Tulsi Gabbard, a Democrat seeking the presidency in the crowded 2020 race, to assist with preparations.

This includes Harris as well. He has resurrected the strategy he used prior to the June debate with Biden, holding less formal policy meetings with trusted advisors,

One reason Trump is considering Gabbard as he prepares to face Harris next month is the notable interactions the former congresswoman had with the vice president during the 2020 campaign.
