The Mulholland Drive actress disclosed to PEOPLE that her new book, Dare I Say It: Everything I Wish I'd Known about Menopause, is about menopause and aging.
Because they have limited access to knowledge, women have too long been forced to suffer in secrecy and shame about the changes they go through throughout menopause.
"I want this book to read like you're sitting down over coffee and having an intimate chat with your girlfriend," Naomi stated to the site.
The actress expressed her hope that it would assist anyone attempting to take control of this stage of life and turn it into a period of emancipation rather than just a trial.
