The Paralympic Games showcase incredible athleticism and determination

Marieke Vervoort (Belgium) - 2016 Rio Paralympics:  Vervoort set a new world record in the 400m T52 wheelchair race with a time of 53.12 seconds. 

Tatyana McFadden (USA) - 2016 Rio Paralympics McFadden dominated the marathon events, winning gold in the women’s wheelchair marathon, and setting a new world record with a time of 1:42:24.

Evan Austin (USA) - 2020 Tokyo Paralympics Austin set a new world record in the 100m butterfly S7 with a time of 1:03.47. His achievement highlighted his exceptional skills in swimming.

Hannah Cockroft (Great Britain) - 2020 Tokyo Paralympics:  Cockroft broke the world record in the 100m T34 wheelchair race with a time of 16.39 seconds. 

Bob Matthews (Australia) - 2000 Sydney Paralympics: Matthews set a world record in the men's 50m freestyle S7 with a time of 27.93 seconds. His record-breaking swim was a highlight of the  Games.

Daniel Dias (Brazil) - 2016 Rio Paralympics Dias won a total of 14 medals across three Paralympics (2008, 2012, and 2016) and set multiple world records in swimming.

Jessica Long (USA) - 2012 London Paralympics Long set a world record in the 400m freestyle S8 with a time of 4:22.73.

David Weir (Great Britain) - 2012 London Paralympics:  Weir won gold in the 800m, 1500m, 5000m, and marathon T54 events. 

Liam Malone (New Zealand) - 2016 Rio Paralympics: Malone set a new world record in the 200m T44 with a time of 21.06 seconds.
